In conjunction with Chain Reaction, various local Christian organizations unite to work with host church, Community Christian Fellowship of Lowell, and the ministry of Somebody Cares Merrimack Valley of Haverhill, in a week long outreach. From July 24 to 29 young people from the ages of 13 to 21 will minister to the residents of Lowell and Haverhill through volunteer work projects and other random acts of kindness.
Each evening participants will gather at Community Christian Fellowship, 105 Princeton Blvd , Lowell from 7:00-9:00 p.m. for a service which is open to the public. And the week will culminate with a Block Party in each city on July 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. , including lunch, fun for the children, pony rides, bouncing rooms, prizes, and a massive giveaway of 40,000 lbs. of food in each location. Block Party locations: South Common, Lowell, MA and GAR Park, Haverhill, MA.
The cohesive effort among the various ministries presents them with a compelling opportunity to lay aside differences and focus on their sameness; their belief in the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The overall impact of serving the cities in this way is genuine and effective, triggering a Chain Reaction that is a tangible witness of God’s love that extends beyond denomination, class, or culture.
